Accounts Payable Coordinator

We are seeking an Accounts Payable Coordinator to join the Accounting department within Brookfield Asset Management Inc.'s Corporate Finance team. The successful candidate should be familiar with the Accounts Payable process and always eager to learn more, also be organized, detailed orientated, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment. 

 

Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Vice-President & Controller, responsibilities include:

  • Coding of invoices, entering the invoices into the accounts payable subledger, and coordinating of payments in the forms of cheques/EFT/ACH
  • Maintain the accounts payable subledger and vendor database in Microsoft Dynamics
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing and troubleshooting of invoices
  • Follow up with internal business units and/or external vendors on aging items and queries
  • Compile 1099 and State sales tax data to facilitate the annual and quarterly filing
  • Prepare and scheduled ad hoc accounts payable analyses and reports
  • Handling of mail and courier for the accounting department
  • Scheduling bank visits to complete cheque and securities transactions
  • Various ad-hoc projects and continuous improvement tasks as assigned by team leadership

 

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of Accounts Payable experience in a high-volume environment
  • Strong foundation of a windows-based accounting software (preferably Microsoft Dynamics)
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
  • Organized and able to effectively prioritize a workload under tight deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills and professionalism, develops relationships with the team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, in dealing with both internal and external stakeholders
