Associate, Investor Relations

Position Summary:

 

As part of the Investor Relations and Communications (IR and Comm) team within the Infrastructure Group the Associate will report to the Senior Vice President of IR and Comm This is a dynamic role with numerous components and the opportunity to develop a strong internal network with investment professionals, the finance and operations teams, and senior management across Brookfield’s global offices.

 

The role will be focused on managing the day-to-day servicing of our investor base, including involvement in the development, implementation and reporting of IR strategies, as well as preparation of materials and logistics for client meetings and roadshows. Other responsibilities will include planning and coordinating investor events, such as our annual investor conference, and assisting with raising capital for new fund offerings and co-investments within the Infrastructure Group’s private funds business. The role is expected to be fast-paced and engaging, within a team environment.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Taking a leading role and being responsible for developing and maintaining investor communications processes
  • Managing inquiries from private fund investors by utilizing all internal and external resources to provide responses to all routine and non-routine questions
  • Working with senior management to coordinate strategic initiatives with key investors
  • Coordinating and managing the preparation and dissemination of IR materials (investor communications and updates, investor reporting, presentations etc.) and internal communications materials (investment committee memos, investor updates, etc.) for major transactions and capital raising initiatives
  • Working with peers in other Brookfield platforms to identify best practices to ensure quality and consistency of IR materials
  • Coordinating and preparing for quarterly conference calls/webcasts with private fund investors, including reviewing and editing event transcripts
  • Assisting with strategic initiatives across other IR functions within the infrastructure group
  • Working independently and within the team on ongoing projects as well as special and non-recurring requests
  • Planning and coordination of special projects and events, including Annual Private Funds Investor Conference

 

 

Required Skills and Experience:

  • An undergraduate university degree in business and a professional designation in accounting or finance (CPA, CA preferred)
  • At least three years of relevant work experience – experience in the infrastructure sector  as well as an existing understanding of private equity investment structures, basic financial reporting metrics, and  institutional investors would be preferred but is not required
  • Professional experience at a Big 4 firm is a strong asset
  • Superior communication skills (written and oral) and ability to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels, both internally and externally
  • Dedicated, well-organized individual and resourceful individual with a high level of attention to detail; ability to handle confidential and non-routine information
  • Self-motivated, proactive and demonstrates initiative; ability to work without a lot of structure
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and strong problem-solving skills
  • Team player with positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills
  • Must have a strong knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database and presentation software (MSWord, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with demonstrated ability to multi task, prioritize and juggle multiple competing tasks and demands under tight deadlines
