About the Position:

BAM’s asset management business has grown significantly over the past few years, both in terms of the number of funds and assets under management.  The fund operations platform has expanded and evolved to meet the growing business requirements and continues to do so.  Reporting to the Director, Finance & Operations, Private Funds Group, the role of the Financial Analyst will be to support the ongoing finance and operations of Brookfield Private Funds and to assist the Senior Financial Analyst and Director in enhancing the operational platform to support the Group and seek improvements and efficiencies in all aspects of the role’s key responsibilities.  


Key responsibilities:

  • Preparation of monthly and quarterly expense and budget analysis;
  • Preparation of financial analyses in support of FP&A activities;
  • Preparation of financial analyses in support of fundraising and marketing activities;
  • Ad-hoc analysis, reporting and presentations on financial and operational results;
  • Supporting product development team and other teams within the Group in analysis of funds in the market and in the pipeline;
  • Special projects as required.



  • Working towards or completion of recognized professional accounting designation (CPA or equivalent preferred);
  • Minimum of two to four (2-4) years of progressive work experience in finance and/or accounting functions;
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and initiative;
  • Excellent analytical, and problem-solving ability;
  • Exemplifies the right motivation by aspiring to achieve collective goals;
  • Penchant for seeking out new experiences, knowledge and candid feedback;
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, complex, fast-paced environment, to adapt quickly and to manage changing priorities;
  • Superior communication skills (oral and written) and interpersonal skills;
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines;
  • Strong financial systems experience, including advanced Excel;
  • Self-motivated and pro-active, with respect to both managing workload and professional development.
