Brookfield Private Equity is recruiting for an Senior Associate, Private Equity in our Toronto office. The role represents an exciting opportunity to join a growing and dynamic team with a long history of executing successful investments in a variety of industries and geographies with deep financial and operational turnaround roots.
The role represents an opportunity to play a key role in a growing deal team with a focus on sourcing, analyzing and executing our private equity investments. The responsibilities for this position would include the following:
Manage key workstreams during investment due diligence
Assist with idea generation and business development;
Take a lead role in managing existing portfolio companies;
Demonstrate strong commercial judgment and ability to work independently;
Work with operating teams to be a key contributor in the planning and completion of due diligence;
Prepare investment committee materials and other transaction documents;
Contribute to a flexible, dynamic, and team-oriented working culture that fosters personal development and a positive attitude; and, Special projects as required.
Qualifications & Requirements

Self-motivating with a proven ability to perform in a fast paced environment, cope with changing priorities and meet deadlines.
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills (oral and written), and able to interact across all levels of the organization.
4-8 years of experience in Principal Investing, Investment Banking, Restructuring, or other relevant areas;
Experience in conducting due diligence;
Keen interest in investing and restructuring;
High level of proficiency in Excel and outstanding financial modeling skills;
Strong analytical skills and creative problem-solving ability;
Experience in distressed situations and deep understanding of capital structure is an asset;
Ability to proactively research investment opportunities;
Ability to multi-task and work in a very fast-paced and team-oriented environment;
Strong written and verbal communication skills; and
Meticulous attention to detail is essential.
